Paradise Falls, Cheshunt

Paradise Falls, Cheshunt.

A favourite for picnics, Paradise Falls is tucked away in the Alpine National Park within the King Valley. After enjoying a delicious lunch of local produce in the parklands, walk the 500m stepped track to the viewing platform. And here? You look out upon a cascade of spectacular water falls. Beautiful in the early summer, especially after rain.

For the more adventurous, why not explore the Falls Walking Track – a 7km return trip that takes you to McMillan’s Track Lookout and offers stunning views of the Upper King River, Lake William Hovel, Mount Stirling and Mount Buller.

Local Swimming Hole, Moyhu

King River, Moyhu

The perfect place to immerse yourself in the beauty of the King River, the Moyhu swimming hole is a favourite amongst locals and tourists alike. Relax on the sandy beach, take a refreshing dip in the deep pools, launch your canoe or paddle board or simply enjoy a leisurely swim. It truly is one of the best spots to stay cool on your Dunmore Farm summer getaway.

And if you’re looking for some extra fun? Try the rope swing that will drop you directly into the waterhole.

Lake William Hovell

Lake William Hovell, Cheshunt

Surrounded by bushland that opens out to picturesque grassed-areas, shady trees and pristine waters, Lake William Hovell offers an idyllic outing. Peaceful and secluded, it’s a popular place for picnickers and those looking for tranquil waters to swim, canoe or paddle board.

For anglers, this summer spot is fantastic for catching redfin perch, without being disturbed by powerboats. Or if you love to hike, mountain bike or four-wheel drive, there are a myriad of tracks for you to explore.

The Warby Ranges

A must for hikers in Victoria’s high country, Warby-Ovens National Park offers breathtaking views, an array of walking and cycling tracks (for all levels) and the opportunity to re-connect with nature and our beautiful Australian wildlife.

It is the traditional Country of the Yorta Yorta Peoples, who have a deep connection to these lands and waters.

Powers Lookout

Named after the notorious, but gentlemanly bushranger Harry Power, who hid out here in the 1860s, Powers Lookout is a rocky escarpment that offers spectacular sweeping views across the King Valley.

With two lookout points and a picnic area, a 20 minute walk will also take you to a crystal-clear waterhole.
