Experience Dunmore

Time, shaped by the land.

At Dunmore, the farm is part of your stay.

A small working farm, shaped by season, weather and the quiet consistency of daily life. Nothing is staged or scheduled, yet there is always something to step into should you choose.

The cottage and shearing shed sit within it, not apart from it, and everything here is shaped by that proximity. The land, the animals and the pace of the day.

You arrive, and for a few days, you live within it.

On the farm at Dunmore

The cottage sits within open farmland, where creek-flat paddocks stretch out toward rolling hills beyond.

You might walk the paddocks, follow the fence lines, or move more slowly through the orchard and kitchen garden, or simply pause, and let the day unfold around you, with nothing set and nowhere you need to be.

Our hens roam freely by day and settle in at dusk, laying in their hutch, with fresh eggs ready to collect by late morning. Benny and Betty, our pygmy goats, keep to their enclosure, while the Angus herd holds the centre of the property, calves arriving in autumn and Brian, our resident bull, a steady presence among them. Bobby, our Bernese Mountain Dog, is part of the welcoming committee and never far, always ready for his next pat, while our cats, Misty and Billy, keep to the warmth of the sun or the quiet of the orchard.

If you’d like a closer understanding of the farm, we’re always happy to walk the property with you, introduce the animals, and show you how the farm works day to day.

The kitchen garden is in regular use, grown with soil health and regenerative principles in mind and you’re invited to pick what is ready. Around you, birds carry across the paddocks and bees move through the garden and surround before returning to their hive.

As the day shifts, so does the way you may wish to spend it. Late afternoon settles into a soft, golden light across the property, and as the sun sets the hot tub comes into its own, set outdoors with a view across the land. Evenings draw in slowly, with time for long bathing, cooking from what’s been gathered throughout the day and, in the cooler months, time by the fire, whether indoors or out under the wide, uninterrupted High Country sky.

Enhancing your stay at Dunmore

For those who would like to shape their time more intentionally, a small number of additional experiences are available. These are arranged with care and delivered in partnership with local practitioners and producers and we recommend enquiring ahead of your stay.

Creative Sessions

Seasonal sessions are held in small groups, bringing people together to make by hand, shaped by the surrounds and what is grown and gathered on the farm.

Restorative Bodywork

Massage and treatments are offered in the privacy of the cottage or the shearing shed, delivered with a considered, hands-on approach that reflects the pace of time here.

Movement & Mindfulness

Private sessions are held in the shearing shed or outdoors, with yoga, sound, and movement shaped by the space and the day, allowing you to settle into it.

Dunmore Larder

Farm to table dining at your Cottage stay

Food at Dunmore follows the same rhythm as the farm.

What is available reflects what is being grown, gathered, and prepared at the time. Our own beef sits at the centre of this, alongside produce from the kitchen garden and local makers and producers we know and trust.

A selection of Larder provisions can be arranged for your stay, allowing you to cook simply in the cottage or eat outside for a slower meal across the property.

Breakfast is unhurried.
Lunch often finds its way into the paddocks.
Dinner is shaped by what you have on hand.

Larder provisions, including breakfast, picnic, and dinner options, can be selected ahead of your stay via the Shoppe, allowing everything to be in place on arrival.

For those wanting something more considered, private dining and long table meals can be arranged separately.
